A Notary Loan Signing Agent is a Notary who guides someone through the signing of their loan closing papers, making sure they sign each document properly, and then notarizing the documents that require a notarization. They are often Mobile Notaries who are sent to the borrower's home or office with the loan papers, saving them a trip to the title company during office hours. It was pretty easy adding my Driver’s license to the Virginia mID app and also connecting to my Apple wallet. What they don’t tell you is once it’s added to your wallet, it goes through an encryption process and pings the Virginia DMV to make sure the ID being added is valid. Next up, I’ll add my passport!

Just remember, a cannot accept a mobile ID for identity verification. We still need the physical ID in person. With remote online notarization, we will ask to see the physical ID on camera as well.
