Last Alarm 5-13-15. Kathleen McLaughlin learned the importance o
f commitment to the community from her father, Captain John J. She entered the field of nursing and was a Registered Emergency Room Nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital, a major New York City Trauma Center for 25 years. During her time at St. Vincent's, Kathleen also served as a union delegate in the New York State Nurses Association, and while a member of the contract negotiating committee, she helped win beneficial contract modifications for all nursing staff in the hospital. It was at this time, when Kathleen McLaughlin was representing her nursing colleagues' best interests, that she made the decision to further serve others by becoming an Attorney At Law. Kathleen has combined her vast medical knowledge with her negotiating skills to guarantee that her clients receive just compensation for their injuries. Kathleen attended Columbia Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration from St. Peter's University. She is a graduate of the City University of New York School of Law and is a licensed attorney in New Jersey State and Federal Court. Beyond her focus on Personal Injury representation, Kathleen McLaughlin is also a trained Civil Mediator and Divorce Mediator, offering her clients a cost-effective, collaborative alternative to expensive, lengthy, and stressful Superior Court proceedings. True to her community roots, Kathleen has been defending indigent clients at the Monmouth County Public Defenders' Office since 2007, and she remains involved in nursing as a part-time School Nurse for Special Needs students throughout New Jersey.
