Today, on International Workers’ Memorial Day, we pause to honor the lives of workers lost on the job and reaffirm our commitment to safer workplaces for all.

Our team had the privilege of attending the AZ AFL-CIO, MALF Workers' Memorial Day event where we stood in solidarity with fellow advocates, honoring workers who have passed and fighting for a better future. It's a stark reminder that every worker deserves to come home safe, every day.

Our Managing Partner, Israel Torres, announced the launch of the ASU Sun Devil Mineros Raoul O. Torres Scholarship Endowment honoring his father who was killed in a mining accident at the age of 26 https://www.asufoundation.org/education-and-scholarship/asu-sun-devil-mineros-raoul-o.-torres-scholarship-endowment-CA126770.html

Let's remember, reflect, and recommit to the cause of safety and dignity in the workplace. Together, we can build a culture where lives are valued above all else.

✊🏽 César Chávez and Dolores Huerta co-founded the United Farm Workers (UFW) and sparked a movement that changed labor rights forever. While Chávez became the face of the farmworker struggle, Dolores Huerta was the powerhouse organizer and negotiator behind many of their biggest victories.

💪 Her rallying cry, “Sí Se Puede,” still fuels the labor movement today. Farmworkers continue to fight for fair wages, safe conditions, and the right to organize without fear.

🚜 Honoring César Chávez means recognizing Dolores Huerta’s contributions and standing with farmworkers today!

“The fight is never about grapes or lettuce. It is always about people.” - César Chávez

🌟 This Women’s History Month, we honor women in the Arizona Mining Strike- their courage and lasting impact. In 1983, women in Clifton & Morenci held the line when Phelps Dodge tried to break the miners’ union. They organized, picketed, and reshaped the fight for labor rights—proving that women are the backbone of every movement.

The Untold Story of Black Lumberjacks in Arizona 🌲✊🏾 When we think of lumberjacks, we often picture a burly white man with an axe—but that image erases the deep history of Black labor in Arizona’s timber industry.

From the late 1800s to the mid-1900s, African American lumber workers played a crucial role in Northern Arizona’s economy, bringing skills from the South to build a thriving industry in places like Flagstaff and Williams. These workers sought better wages and opportunities, escaping the racial violence and labor restrictions of the Jim Crow South.

This , let’s shine a light on the Black men and women who built Arizona’s timber industry—a history too often overlooked.

On , we recognize the leaders who championed unions, worker rights, and the fight for a livable wage. From Franklin D. Roosevelt, who signed the National Labor Relations Act protecting workers’ right to organize, to Harry Truman, who stood against union-busting, and Lyndon B. Johnson, who pushed for the minimum wage and workplace protections—we owe much of our progress to their leadership. Strong unions build strong communities. Today, we continue their fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to organize. Because when workers thrive, America thrives.
