For those of you that make federal estimated tax payments, the last estimated tax payment for 2010 is due January 18th (from the irs.gov website: "In 2011, January 15 is a Saturday and Monday, January 17 is a holiday. The due date for the January 15, 2011, payment will be January 18.")

Estimated tax is the method used to pay tax on income that is not subject to withholding. This includes income from self-employment, interest, dividends, alimony, rent, gains from the sale of assets, prizes, and awards. You also may have to pay estimated
