LORS is still celebrating Women's History Month. Here are two more important reasons Women should have an estate plan:

Reason #3
Women are likely to earn less than men during their lifetime. Unfortunately, as a result, women have to make their fewer dollars stretch throughout their life. So, having a great plan is essential.

Reason #4
Women are likely to be involved with the care and support for their loved ones, such as spouses, children, grandchildren, parents and siblings. Proper planning allows women to provide for their loved ones in the event they experience incapacitation.

So, Estate Planning is important for ALL adults. However, in honor of Women History Month, LORS will be sharing a few important reasons Women should have an estate plan. Here are two:

Reason #1

Women are likely to live longer than men. As a Woman ages beyond her 60s, the need for having estate planning documents such as powers of attorney and living will is very important in the event of incapacitation.

Reason #2

Women are likely to be the custodial parent. Should an unforeseen event happen, it is important for Women to have estate planning documents to determine who will be the guardian of and how to handle the inheritance for the minor or disabled child(ren).

Estate Planning does not require one to have a life insurance policy. However, it is highly recommended that as part of the estate planning process you speak with an insurance agent or broker about obtaining life insurance if you do not already have it. Although not necessary, life insurance is important as it provides your loved ones with some financial security and helps them pay your debts (i.e. funeral costs, medical expenses, etc.).

Happy New Year! It has been almost three years since the Law Office Of Rodlena Sales, Esq. (LORS) has opened.
