Being creative is something that brings peace and joy to both Cristine and Grace! As a young girl, Cristine remembers learning how to crochet, although she didn’t pick it up again until she was an adult. It continued with memories of doing charcoal drawings with her dad, which all evolved into her getting a degree in Graphic Design. She is grateful to her mother-in-law for helping her re-learn how

to crochet and knit, teaching her how to sew, how to make jelly, and do home canning. Grace learned how to crochet in 2nd grade from Cristine, with Grandma Rembold teaching her how to knit. Grace is always making something, and enjoys coming up with her own patterns; the Mug Mitten being one of them. The name On Elderberry Hill comes from the “hill” where Grandma and Poppy Rembold live, which also has many elderberry bushes that are harvested each year. When creating, they don’t limit themselves to making one specific item. On Elderberry Hill is a place where their “creativity flows freely” allowing them to create what they are inspired by at any given moment. On Elderberry Hill enables Cristine and Grace to share their creations with folks who appreciate handmade items, and hope their items bring joy to their customers as much as it does for them.
