There is no single path into the legal profession, and it is not uncommon for successful attorneys to come from a background fraught with hardship. While one's background is not the deciding factor of a successful legal career, it is something that law schools consider when deciding on admission. One TLS user who came from a rough upbringing is asking for help figuring out what to write for the C&F portion of his applications. Do you have anything to say on the matter? Making a big #career move like going in-house from a big law firm can present a number of challenges. One choice you must make is whether to tell your #lawfirm as soon as possible or to wait until you have secured an offer. One TLS member is asking exactly that, and already users have weighed in with opinions on both sides. One difference that was pointed out is that it may be OK to tell a few partners you are close with, but you might want to wait to inform HR of your plans. What do you think is the right move?
