Dear Fellow Paralegal Members,

Currently we do not hold enough money to purchase t-shirts for each member. However, we would like to invite you to bring a plain white t-shirt on Wednesday to make your own t-shirt. We will be bringing paints and brushes for you to use along with stencils.

These shirts will be for out Spirit Day on October 13, 2012 held right after our meeting at the Football field. We are in competition with other clubs and we need your support to be able to win a stipend for the following semester.

We hope to see you on Wednesday from 5pm-7pm across the Small Cafeteria. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to ask.

Pasadena City College Paralegal Association

Dear Fellow Paralegal Members,

Pasadena City College Paralegal Association would like to invite you to participate in the mock trials. I understand it is somewhat of a last minute information but if you can audition and you make the cut you will be able to travel out the State to the Official PAD mock trial Attached you will find an idea of what an opening and closing statement should look like. I look forward to seeing many of you at Mock Auditions on Wednesday October 10, 2012.

Best Wishes,

Paralegal Association

Don't let this opportunity of a lifetime pass you by!

Phi Alpha Delta will have one last mock trial tryouts:

WHEN: Wednesday October 10, 2012 @ 6PM
WHERE: Dr. Kellogg's office (Room R308)
HOW: Prepare a opening and/or closing statement no longer than 5 minutes (present yourself! you may be recorded by the judge[s], but no student will be allowed in the room).

Those who make it to the team will get to attend the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law National Mock Trial Competition alongside the P.A.D. Pre-Law Conference, an "educational and leadership opportunity for Pre-Law Members. Members will meet their national counterparts from colleges and universities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico". The three day event will be held on November 8 – 10, 2012 in Alexandria, VA.

This is a unique opportunity! Mock Trials give you ample experience and insight, which can be useful in the future, i.e., law school, law firms, your own practice. If you are a paralegal, this opportunity gives you a comprehensive understanding of the rules of evidence and how trials are conducted, which can only help in your career and enhance your personal knowledge. (Lawyers pay thousands of dollars just to participate in moot court).

The materials may seem complex and overwhelming at first, but said materials are the same used in high schools. You will need to meet with your team often once selected. This is a serious commitment. Be prepared to meet with your fellow teammates at least 3 times a week.

If you have additional questions, feel free to email us at [email protected], and we will answer your questions to the best of our ability.

Thank you,

Ilitia Tapia
