Florida Leads 2026 Desirability Rankings |

It’s no surprise to see Florida leading the 2026 desirability rankings for a third year in a row—with about 1 in 3 Americans considering it a top place to live. As someone who’s called Florida home since 1992, and who has deep roots in both the community and the real estate world, I’ve seen firsthand what draws people here. Tampa and Orlando both landed in the top 10 most desirable major metros, a great reminder that Florida offers more than just one standout city. Interestingly, Tampa also made the list of least desirable metros, which shows how personal and varied our preferences can be—sometimes the same place sparks both excitement and hesitation. Orlando’s strong showing highlights the growing interest in different parts of our state, not just the big names. The fact that Florida has held the top spot for three straight years really speaks to the enduring appeal of our lifestyle, opportunities, and communities. If you’re curious about what makes Florida such a magnet for new residents—or if you’re considering a move yourself—I’m always here to share insights and help navigate the ins and outs of finding your place here.
