Daniel Eisinger for Public Defender Political advertisement paid for and approved by Daniel Eisinger, Democrat for Public Defender Daniel grew up in Wellington, Florida. (2000) and J.D.

He attended Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach where he received his International Baccalaureate Diploma upon graduation. Daniel went on to earn both his B.A. (2003) from the University of Florida. After working in County Commissioner Karen Marcus’ office, Daniel began his career in Carey Haughwout’s Palm Beach County Public Defender office in December 2003. Over the last 20 years, Daniel has r

epresented clients charged in misdemeanor, felony, and major crime cases — including capital cases in which the state was seeking the death penalty. He has experience supervising both misdemeanor and felony divisions and will oversee approximately 120 lawyers, 80 support staff and a total budget of approximately 18.3 million dollars. Daniel is a member of the MacArthur Safety and Justice Challenge Core Team, which is focused on safely reducing jail population and racial disparity. He is the Co-Chair, Criminal Justice Subcommittee, on the West Palm Beach Task Force for Racial and Ethnic Equality. Representing indigent clients who do not have the ability to afford a private attorney, Daniel has worked with a passion on bail reform, sentencing disparity and increasing re-entry services for citizens returning from imprisonment. Daniel believes that Public Defenders are an integral force in keeping our communities safe. Public Defenders know best what services are needed to keep people from reoffending. As Chief Assistant to Ms. Haughwout, Daniel has assisted in shaping policy and has been instrumental in establishing court programs to better serve clients and the community — the Misdemeanor Mental Health Court and the Driving Under Suspension Court. These courts have resulted in making our communities safer while benefiting clients at the same time. Daniel is a member of the National and Florida Association(s) for Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Palm Beach Bar Association and a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County. A family man, Daniel is married to Amy Eisinger. They have three active sons (Ethan, Micah and Benjamin) and a rescue pup named Chocolate Chip (CC). A leader and forward thinker — qualities necessary in making important and positive changes in the criminal justice system. Daniel asks for your support as the next Palm Beach County Public Defender. He is committed to work for justice, equity, and fairness in the legal system of Palm Beach County and beyond.

Thank you Sun Sentinel for appreciating how important the Public Defender is in Palm Beach County.

Three big questions Tuesday’s primary will answer | Steve Bousquet

A new public defender

The most critical primary race in Palm Beach County is the Democratic primary for Public Defender. It’s a striking contrast between Daniel Eisinger, a career assistant P.D., and Adam Frankel, a criminal defense lawyer who served 12 years as a Delray Beach commissioner. Eisinger is chief assistant to the highly respected Public Defender Carey Haughwout, who’s retiring after 24 years.

The choice is between a career public servant (Eisinger) and a career politician (Frankel) with a familiar-sounding name, who’s not related to Lois Frankel, the better-known member of Congress. The Sun Sentinel Editorial Board endorsed Eisinger. Because no other candidates are running, all voters, even independents and Republicans, can vote in this primary.
