That time I was sworn into the bar… in a mask.
I passed the California Bar during COVID. the first year it ever went online, after our exam got postponed and the world shut down. I had a one-year-old at home. The year before that, I had my son in my last semester of law school. And that same year, my town and house burned down in the 2018 Campfire in Paradise, CA.
Any one of those things could’ve been the reason to wait. To pause. To pick an easier year.
I didn’t have an easier year. So I did it in the hard one.
Here’s what I know now: the timing is never perfect. The plate is always too full. And you are far more capable than the moment is asking you to believe.
Women, Moms, doers, leaders, we do it all . Not because it’s easy, but because we decide we’re not done.
Don’t ever give up. 🤍
