Each year, the City raises flags from Memorial Day Weekend through the Fourth of July in honor of our nation and those who have served. This year, we proudly displayed the special edition America 250 anniversary flag in celebration of the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday. Florida probate law is changing.

Beginning July 1, 2026, Florida’s summary administration threshold increases from $75,000 to $150,000. This means more families may qualify for a faster and simpler probate process when handling a loved one’s estate.

Summary administration can often reduce time, cost, and court involvement, but it is not right for every estate. Creditor issues, disputes, unclear asset ownership, or the need for Letters of Administration may still require formal probate.
