Update on the Keeping Families Together Parole in Place (PIP) Program!🚨

A federal judge has issued a temporary administrative stay on PIP applications, effective August 26th. This means no PIP applications will be approved for at least 14 days, possibly extending the pause into October.

Several outcomes are possible, including the resumption of approvals, an extended pause, or even a permanent stop in October. We're committed to keeping you informed as the situation unfolds.

Blanca faced a removal defense case without an attorney, enduring a hearing late in her high-risk pregnancy. Despite her hardships, the judge ordered her deportation due to a missed asylum deadline.

Blanca then sought help from Mariella, who appealed and devised a new plan: dismiss the case, apply for parole in place due to her husband's military service, and adjust her status.

In October, Blanca’s parole in place was approved. Now, with her work permit in hand, she’s on the path to becoming a permanent resident.
