Buy When There's Blood In The Streets

Great wealth is built during times of panic. While others were selling, Baron Rothschild made a fortune buying during the panic that followed the Battle of Waterloo against Napoleon.

How will you capitalize on this opportunity?

Will you tighten up, and hold on until the dust settles? Will you sell for fear of losing more? Or will you bide your time and make great investments and deep discounts as the opportunity presents itself?

Not sure? Call or message us and we will help you emerge from this far stronger then you were before.

Kobe Bryant and the Importance of Estate Planning

I am most saddened by the loss of Kobe Bryant and his beautiful daughter Gianna, along with the fellow passengers.

As a business professional, my #1 goal is to stay disciplined. Kobe exercised discipline at the highest level. I look up to him and his ability to keep working hard, despite the distractions and obstacles life threw his way.

Some celebrities sacrifice a work life balance to achieve success. Kobe didn't. It is obvious that Kobe put his family first, and surrounded them with love. He knew life is short, and that everyone should make the most of it.

He stood for love, dedication, and service. Love for his family and friends, dedication to mastering his craft, and service to his community. He was truly inspirational, and his legacy will continue to inspire for generations to come.

His passing also highlights the importance of estate planning. We never know what the future holds for us, so take the time to take care of your loved ones prior to any unforeseen catastrophic events.

Kobe Bryant made an estimated $680 million during his 20-year basketball career between endorsements and his actual salary.

There's a retirement crisis in America where most will be unable to afford a 'solid life'

Pay yourself first. Individuals and families should be saving between 10-20% of their income toward their retirement goals, depending on the age at which they begin saving. Let’s make sure you don’t end up long on life and short on money in your golden years.

There's a retirement crisis in America https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/01/theres-a-retirement-crisis-in-america-where-most-will-be-unable-to-afford-a-solid-life.html?__source=iosappshare%7Ccom.apple.UIKit.activity.CopyToPasteboard

The three "legs" of the retirement "stool" (private savings, pensions, and Social Security) are all in dire shape.

Happy Special Day President Lincoln.

We have President Lincoln to thank for so much. Here are a couple of take-aways pertaining to personal finance we can glean from Honest Abe.

1. Be careful about borrowing money. In 1833, President Lincoln borrowed money to buy a store with a friend of his. The store went out of business, his friend passed away and he was stuck with the note. He jokingly referred to it as his very own "national debt."

2. Nothing can erode personal wealth quicker than over-spending. Whether you have a problem with spending money on the latest and greatest superficial things, or your spouse does, form a family budget and stick to it. In this case, Mrs. Lincoln's spending caused the President considerable discomfort.

3. Think long and hard about the investment you make in education. President Lincoln was a self-taught, as was our first President. Is an out of state college really worth the money? What would Abe say?

4. Keep it local. Did you know that the term "green back" comes from the $150 million of United States Notes that were printed on paper with green ink as a result of congress passing the Legal Tender Act in 1862. Prior to this, all government currency was in gold or silver. This became the world's preferred form of currency!

When it comes to retirement, most people say they'd like to spend more time with their friends and family and possibly buy a vacation home and travel the world. That's a tall order for those with little or no nest egg.

Robot submarine finds "holy grail of shipwrecks" with up to $17 billion in treasure

If you discovered $17 billion of shipwrecked treasure, what would you do?

Researchers at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute say that they are, "...explorers, not treasure hunters, and are not involved in the ownership disputes."

Some would say those two terms are synonymous!

One country will end up with a nice, unexpected, boost to their GDP.
