An update to the "Wet Bandit" of Edmond: If you've been on any of the neighborhood apps lately, you've likely seen reports of an unknown man walking onto people's property in the dark of night, turning on their outdoor faucets, and leaving. We're happy to report that this slippery saga has finally run dry. Last night our officers mopped up the soggy suspect, and his charges are pending.

UPDATE (1:06pm)-- Detectives and Diana have made positive IDs on both girls, who are minors. Therefore, we have removed their faces and replaced them with these not-so-great Photoshopped versions.

Also, for you sassy audience members, NO Rachel McAdams and Lacey Chabert did NOT commit this crime, so quit emailing TMZ.

HELP US IDENTIFY THESE PLASTIC PILFERERS! On Thursday, August 18th, these two Mean Girls went into Sephora to “fetch” a few things, albeit the wrong way by not paying. So close to October 3rd, but it just wasn’t meant to be. On Wednesdays they probably wear pink, but on Thursdays they ALLEGEDLY steal makeup.

The first mean girl was a brunette and wore a blue tank top, white soccer shorts, and carried a large tote, that looks like an Athleta shopping bag. The second mean girl was blonde and wore a white tank top and a white skort. Skort. What an amazing word.

They browsed around, constantly monitoring staff and checking what appeared to be a shopping list in the Notes section of their iPhone. They later watched some TikTok videos, which will be important later.

Back and forth, they slowly slipped things into the metallic looking bag: a Nars Afterglow lip shine, Caudalie Vinoperfect, Ouai shampoo, and Bum Bum body lotion to name a few. You’d think that was enough but then they went to the back of the store-a to steal some more-a from Sephora. This was not grool, fair citizens. Oops sorry, we meant to say cool and then started to say great. Not cool.

After texting a tad, drinking some more mocha frappewhattachino and smelling some lotions and potions (hopefully not the Bum Bum lotion), the thieves passed all the points of sale. The ever vigilant Loss Prevention officer followed them outside and asked for the merch back.

The girls, citing a recent TikTok trend/challenge, told him they knew exactly how much they could steal before he could apprehend them. They also said they knew he couldn’t touch them or chase them, citing Sephora’s policy. They started to walk away from him and he followed a few steps before they screamed “QUIT FOLLOWING US!” loudly at him. Raise your Lohan-d if you’ve ever been personally victimized by a bully like that. Yipes.

If you recognize either one of these thieves for a Class B Misdemeanor for Theft, get in junior detectives, we’re going detecting and please contact crime analyst Diana Smith at [email protected] or call her at 817-748-8915. On this day, August 20, 1986, Edmond was rocked by the tragic events at the Downtown Edmond Post Office. Today, we remember the 14 killed, 6 injured and all of the families and citizens who were so deeply impacted. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all.

Cowgirl Coffee is an amazing coffee shop off Waterloo and Broadway that has been serving the area for years!

They have sadly lost their lease and will have to be out of their current location by 8/31. They are hoping to find another great location around the same area, so if anyone knows any leads on a possible new location, please pass on the info!
