After 55 years in the practice of law, most of it as a trial lawyer, I have finally retired. Except for the occasional mediation (with the folks that still know who I am) and arbitration it is a time to write and reflect.
The one thing I know, is I greatly miss the give and take of the courtroom , and the comradeship of my fellow members of the bar. Most of the persons I practiced law with over the years are either retired or have gone on to their award before the great arbiter of the universe. Bless them. But, bless also the young lawyers that still fight for the rights of their clients; the countless ones I have carefully mentored; and the judges with which they deal everyday. Theirs is the real blessings of the age.
