In May of 1999, skeletal remains were found in Texas County, Okla., northeast of Hitchland, Texas. The remains were and continue to be unidentified. It is believed the male victim was between the ages of 43-47, 5'4"- 5'6" with a medium build. He is either Hispanic or Caucasian and he had extensive dental work. The victim was wearing a light blue/grey medium weight jacket with a tan Levi Strauss shirt and tan Levi Strauss jeans.

April 26, 2008: 32-year-old Carter Leach is found dead in the back of a pick-up truck at Kicks 66 AKA on East Skelly in Catoosa. It was determined Carter died from blunt force trauma to the head.

On April 13, 2023, The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) held the 1st annual OSBI Career Fair. The event was held at the OSBI Forensic Science Center in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Representatives from the Investigative, Criminalistic, Information Services, and Information Technology divisions provided information to high school and college students as well as many other potential employees. This event allowed potential applicants to speak directly to employees in their possible career field of choice.

On April 13, 1983, the partially decomposed body of an unknown white male was found in a location approximately ten miles north of the intersection of Highways 3 and 98 in McCurtain County.

OSBI ASKS FOR HELP IDENTIFYING SUSPECTS AND VEHICLE ASSOCATED WITH MURDER OF BETHANY MAN FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OKLAHOMA CITY (October 21, 2022) – Special Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) are requesting assistance from the public with identifying two men and a vehicle tied to the murder of a Bethany man in July 2022. Just after 11 p.m. on July 20, 2022, the Bethany Police Department requested OSBI assistance with the homicide of Mark Anthony Johnson that occurred at an apartment complex at 7404 NW 22nd Street. Bethany officers responded to the scene after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting gunshots in the area. Once on scene, they found Johnson, 40, deceased. During the investigation, Agents pulled surveillance video and found a Blue Ford Expedition arrived at the complex just before the shooting. After the murder, two unidentified men returned to the Expedition and left the complex. The two men are suspects in Johnson’s murder. SUSPECT IN BETHANY HOMICIDE ARRESTED FOR FIRST DEGREE MURDER FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 12, 2021 OKLAHOMA CITY – The suspect in a Bethany homicide earlier this week is 31-year-old Jordan Evans. He was arrested for First Degree Murder the night of November 10, 2021. At approximately 10:45 p.m. that night, the Bethany Police Department was called to 29th Terrance and Peniel after an individual was found murdered. Evans was arrested without incident at the Bethany Police Department and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. The identity of the deceased is pending positive identification by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The Medical Examiner will also determine cause of death. At this time, there is no additional information available to be released. ***A booking photo of Evans is attached.*** ###
OSBI RELEASES ENHANCED VIDEO; SEEKS PUBLIC’S HELP IN IDENTIFYING VEHICLE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 16, 2021 SEMINOLE COUNTY, Okla. – Today, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is releasing an enhanced version of a video that was released previously in the Faithe Ely death investigation. Ely, 23, was found deceased on Highway 56 just south of the intersection of EW 1320 Road and Highway 56 in Seminole County. The Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that her injuries were consistent with an individual that was struck by a moving vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing a truck and trailer in the area within moments of the incident. OSBI agents were able to locate surveillance video that matched the witness description of the truck. The OSBI enhanced the video optimistic that someone will recognize it and contact the Bureau. The video shows a light colored pick-up truck with four doors pulling a trailer that appeared to have working rear and sidelights. Based on the video, the trailer is equipped with a rear folding ramp or gate. Agents would like to speak to the driver of the truck to see if they saw Ely walking along Highway 56 or otherwise saw anything unusual in the area of Highway 56 south of 270 between 8 – 8:30 p.m. on March 28, 2021. OSBI INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE IN BOKOSHE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOKOSHE, Oklahoma (January 3, 2022) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating a homicide that occurred last night in Bokoshe, Oklahoma.
At 11 p.m. on January 2, 2022, the Bokoshe Police Department and LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a shooting on Missouri Street. The deceased, Ken Cosgrove, 49, entered the home and proceeded to physically assault the homeowner. After the altercation, Cosgrove exited the home but turned around and attempted to go back inside. The homeowner had retrieved their gun and when Cosgrove tried to go back inside, he was shot. Cosgrove died at the scene.
The homeowner, 69, was taken to the hospital to be treated for the injuries he received during the assault. He was treated and released from the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.

BRYAN COUNTY MAN ARRESTED ON CHILD PO*******HY CHARGES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRYAN COUNTY, Oklahoma (December 30, 2021) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested 54-year-old Jerry Dwayne Haislip of Colbert, Oklahoma on multiple felony charges related to child po*******hy.
On November 22, 2021, the OSBI ICAC Unit received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding the uploading of child po*******hy on a social media platform. During the investigation, Haislip was identified as the suspect associated with the social media accounts, and an arrest warrant was issued.
Haislip was arrested without incident on December 29, 2021 and booked into the Bryan County Jail on the following charges:
• Possession of Child Po*******hy
• Trafficking in Children
• Distribution of Child Po*******hy
• Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crime Act.
The OSBI appreciates the assistance from the District 19 District Attorneys Office, the Bryan County Sheriffs Office and the Bokchito Police Department with Haislip’s arrest.

Today marks 22 years since Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman went missing. Lauria was spending the night at the Freeman's house for Ashley's 16th birthday. Ashley's parents, Danny and Kathy Freeman, were found murdered in the rubble of their home, which had been set on fire. There was no trace of the girls.
After more than 18 years, three suspects were identified in the case - David Pennington, Phil Welch and Ronnie Busick. Both Pennington and Welch had died. However, in April 2018, an arrest warrant was issued for Busick who was incarcerated in Newton, Kansas. In July 2020, Busick agreed to plead guilty to one count of Accessory to Murder. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years suspended with time served for cooperating with investigators.

GUILTY PLEA ENTERED IN CHILD PO*******HY INVESTIGATION
OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Oklahoma (December 28, 2021) – The second suspect in a 2020 child po*******hy case pleads guilty in Oklahoma County Court. Cherokee White, 28, entered a guilty plea in Oklahoma County Court on December 20, 2021. She plead to the following counts:
• Lewd, Indecent or Lewd Acts with a Child Under Sixteen (16)
• Manufacturing Child Po*******hy
• Be*******ty
White received a sentence of 65 years in prison.
The investigation began in January 2020 after a Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit forwarded images depicting child po*******hy to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). After analyzing the images, NCMEC determined they originated near the Jones, Oklahoma area and forwarded the investigation to the OSBI ICAC Unit. Agents determined the images were of a 14-month-old child and that the pictures were taken in November 2018.
Based on information learned during the course of the investigation, Joseph Rogers, 30, was arrested. Following his arrest, agents served a search warrant at the home of White and Rogers in Bethany. Electronics collected at the time of the warrant were forensically analyzed and revealed additional pornographic images and videos perpetrated by both individuals against the same child from the 2018 photos. It was also discovered the pair were violating a pet. White was also arrested.
The children of Rogers and White were removed from the home at the time of their arrest.
In June 2021, Rogers plead guilty to the following charges:
• 3 counts of Lewd, Indecent or Lewd Acts with a Child Under Sixteen (16)
• 3 counts of Manufacturing Child Po*******hy
• 1 count of Distributing Child Po*******hy
• 1 count of Aggravated Possession of Obscene Materials involving the Participation of Minors Under the Age of Eighteen (18)
• 1 count of Be*******ty
He received a sentence of Life plus 20 years.

OSBI INVESTIGATING OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN GRADY COUNTY
** The following update is based on an active and ongoing investigation. The OSBI's initial understanding of the facts and circumstances may evolve over the course of the investigation as witnesses are interviewed and evidence is collected and analyzed.
** Upon completion of the OSBI investigation, agents will submit a report summarizing their investigation to the District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney will determine whether or not to file charges.
** The OSBI does not release the name of the officers involved unless the District Attorney determines charges should be filed.
GRADY COUNTY, Oklahoma (December 28, 2021) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred last night in Grady County.
It is early in the investigation but this is what is known at this time:
• At approximately 9:00 p.m., the Anadarko Police Department received a call reporting a disturbance at a local hotel.
• A man, a woman and a child are in a vehicle at the hotel when officers arrive.
• Officers attempt to stop the vehicle but the driver takes off out of the hotel parking lot.
• A pursuit ensues that involves the Anadarko Police Department, Verden Police Department, Caddo County Sheriff’s Office, Grady County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
• OHP does a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) and the car is stopped on County Road 1310 and County Road 2760.
• Once the vehicle stops, the woman and the child get out of the vehicle. Neither were injured.
• The male subject remains in the vehicle and a short standoff with law enforcement takes place.
• During the standoff, there is an altercation and shots are fired. The male subject is hit.
• He is transported to the hospital for treatment. At this time his condition is unknown.
Again, this is an active and ongoing investigation. There is no additional information to release at this time.

** Upon completion of the OSBI investigation, agents will submit a report summarizing their investigation to the District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney will determine whether or not to file charges.

GRADY COUNTY, Oklahoma (December 28, 2021) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred last night in Grady County.
It is early in the investigation but this is what is known at this time:
• At approximately 9:00 p.m., the Anadarko Police Department received a call reporting a disturbance at a local hotel.
• A man, a woman and a child are in a vehicle at the hotel when officers arrive.
• Officers attempt to stop the vehicle but the driver takes off out of the hotel parking lot.
• A pursuit ensues that involves the Anadarko Police Department, Verden Police Department, Caddo County Sheriff’s Office, Grady County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
• OHP does a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) and the car is stopped on County Road 1310 and County Road 2760.
• Once the vehicle stops, the woman and the child get out of the vehicle. Neither were injured.
• The male subject remains in the vehicle and a short standoff with law enforcement takes place.
• During the standoff, there is an altercation and shots are fired. The male subject is hit.
• He is transported to the hospital for treatment. At this time his condition is unknown.
Again, this is an active and ongoing investigation. There is no additional information to release at this time.
