Try to remember when raising a child who has experienced trauma that they are wise beyond their years and need you to talk TO them, not AT them. I’ll be the first to admit this is a struggle with my own parenting, but we owe it to our future generation to do all we can to help them start their adult lives in a healthy space so they can go forward and not look back.
