🎙 From Dust to Verdict: Episode 14 🎙
The workers finally spoke. And their message was devastatingly consistent.
Countertop fabrication workers diagnosed with fatal silicosis worked in certified shops. They used water. They wore masks. They followed the OSHA rules. And still, they got sick.
As discussed in Episode 14, workers, doctors, nurses, and public health experts testified before the Cal/OSHA Standards Board that this epidemic is not the result of a few “bad actors.” The evidence continues to point to the uniquely toxic nature of crystalline silica artificial stone itself.
At the center of this episode is a growing question: if workers are still developing fatal disease despite following the regulations, how many more lives will be lost before meaningful action is taken?
