What's The Difference Between A Pardon & Expungement?

A criminal conviction, regardless of degree or severity, can make it problematic to gain employment, gain admission to college or university, enter the military, secure financial loans, even rent a home or apartment. Your criminal history can follow you wherever you go, showing up in a variety of background checks, making past problems a present headache. When these problems arise, finding the most efficient way to clear your record becomes your highest priority, allowing you to move forward beyond a criminal past whose legal debt has since been paid.

It is paramount you understand all options available to you if you’re trying to have a criminal record sealed or erased. Most don’t know there are marked differences between pardons and expungements, nor do they know which of the two they should be pursuing.

An expungement and a pardon are not the same thing. Find out the difference and how to get each.
