When it comes to transporting the body of a deceased person, airlines must show more respect and responsibility. Take note of the poor customer service from Turkish Airlines and American Airlines, which delayed delivering the bodies of two deceased persons to their destinations. These delays caused emotional injury to the mourners, who had scheduled a funeral for their loved one. Now they needed to pursue the airlines to determine the location of the bodies and re-arrange the transport.
“The law puts a special value on human remains and you can’t treat [a] deceased person like a piece of luggage or a piece of cargo,” said lawyer Mark Seitelman, who represents both families. “It has to be treated with respect, it has to be delivered on time to the mourners who are waiting to receive it.” https://www.dropbox.com/s/sjtzj3bwv00j9fp/new%20york%20post--berlinbayev%20and%20vega%20cases.pdf?dl=0
