Monday, May 11, 2015 did in fact begin like a day like so many others. All of a sudden I get a call out of the blue from my parents' cell phone they rarely use, so I knew something wasn't right. They told me "Justin is Dead" I was literally speechless. My heart was in my throat. My only brother, with no record of violence.,. college background. His girlfriend stated clearly in the cal
l she made to the Non-Emergency number (which got routed to 911 wrongly) that Justin would never hurt her. She had no fear of him, but recognized that in his deep sadness over losing his job, and the newly reintroduced drinking (Justin hadn't had a drink in 5 weeks) that his despondency was not something she felt confident in handling. His words and texts to her made her feel the need to reach out for help, so that he could get past this obviously weak moment
Since his death on May 11, the truths behind the action are unfolding, and as they do, the putrescence of the facts are boiling in a vat of bureaucracy that has found me unable to simply say, 'hey, it happens'. Because it is NOT SUPPOSED to HAPPEN. SHOTS FIRED
Four shots, from 2 officers, from COLT ASSAULT RIFLES (2 bullets go through the wall and make it outside, which itself could have injured or killed someone else) !! My brother is removed from the hope of a more happy life. The opportunity to find that happiness is wiped out forever. And yet his lady is forced to remain OUTSIDE of their shared residence with NO clue what has happened. Yes, my brother Justin was despondent. Yes, indeed he was, but that is also a part of your training! You KNOW how to talk a person down from despondency, or were you NOT trained in that very standardized operating procedure?? "To Protect And To Serve!" Read what you SIGNED when accepting the public service position of PEACE OFFICER. It's right there. You FAILED. SUMMARY
Changes MUST be made. No family should EVER have to experience this tragic, senseless, and inhumane act of murder under the badge. But, in order to push these changes through, we need your help! This campaign is a push and a demand for proper police training so that every American can TRUST in those men and women given the authority to PROTECT and SERVE the communities of America. Police must be held accountable. They should be rewarded for proper service as well as held accountable for any and every wrongdoing. These violent police oriented killings has been happening to many families throughout the entire country and are a growing trend. Violence against Americans must STOP! The money raised by this cause will go towards:
1. Legal fees, the Legal Fund
2. The gathering and researching of all needed information in order to create new laws and bills designed to protect American citizens
3. Administrative fees (paperwork, mailing, phone calls, website hosting, etc)
