It is with great sadness that the Cooper Law Firm, LLC, announce the passing of one of their Partners, Celeste Brustowicz.

She will be truly missed by her family, law partners and staff and friends.

Below is her obituary which provides details of her Celebration of Life.

Celeste Brustowicz
April 7, 1961 - February 8, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Celeste Brustowicz, a beloved daughter, sister, and protector of the vulnerable, who left us on February 8, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on April 7, 1961, Celeste was a spirited dynamo whose love for her family and unwavering commitment to justice defined her life.

A proud graduate of Louisiana State University and LSU Law School, Celeste dedicated her career to advocating for those who could not advocate for themselves. She was licensed to practice law in Louisiana, California, and Mississippi, tirelessly working to ensure justice for countless individuals. Among her many accomplishments, Celeste played a pivotal role in defeating the Sackler's in the historic Fetal Fentanyl Case, a definitive moment that highlighted her dedication to public health and safety.

Celeste leaves behind her cherished father, Theodore, and three devoted brothers: Christopher, Mark, and Gregory. Her strong familial ties and deep-rooted values shaped the person she became; she was not just a sister or daughter but an unwavering source of love, laughter, and inspiration.

Her heart was as big as her spirit, touched by the struggles of others and infinitely grateful for the joys life offered. She was known for her kindness, intelligence, and a fierce dedication to making a difference. Though her time with us was far too brief, the legacy of her work will continue to inspire all those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Celeste's memory to the American Cancer Society, a testament to her compassion and desire to support those in need.

May her spirit find peace, and her contributions to justice continue to shine brightly in the hearts of many. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She will be interred at the Covington Cemetery in a private ceremony. There will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE on Saturday April 12 at Sleepy Lagoon
76406 Highway 25 Covington LA 70435

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, the staff from the Cooper Law Firm put smiles on the faces of many students at St. Michael’s Special School.

It was a pleasure to deliver the gifts to the students. This is our second venture with the school; however, we want to make it a permanent on.

Happy Hoildays from the Cooper Law Firm!

"The Supreme Court on Thursday temporarily blocked a bankruptcy deal for Purdue Pharma that would have shielded members of the billionaire Sackler family, which once controlled the company, from additional civil lawsuits over the opioid epidemic and that capped the Sacklers’ personal liability at $6 billion."

A federal appeals court had signed off on the agreement, which would shield members of the wealthy Sackler family from opioid-related lawsuits in exchange for billions to resolve thousands of claims.

"The school district...authorized his firm to conduct a radiological examination paid for by two environmental lawyers: Celeste Brustowicz and Kevin W. Thompson. Both lawyers have been involved in class-action lawsuits against the US government over radioactive waste from the sites in North St. Louis "

Conflicting reports of contamination have worried residents of Florissant, a community that continues to suffer from the legacy of the Manhattan Project.
