A Power of Attorney “Mandate” is a legally binding document authorized by you “the Principal” giving authority to a trusted person “the Agent” to act on your behalf when you cannot.

In Louisiana, the “Mandate” contains your specific direction, and must be witnessed and notarized to have effect.

It can be revoked by “the Principal” and cannot be used by “the Agent” to take care of your affairs after your death.
