🤔 Kako naručiti hranu?
📞 Kako obaviti telefonski razgovor?
🏦 Kako otvoriti račun u banci?
💼 Kako razgovarati sa poslodavcem?
📄 Kako razumeti dokumente, ugovore i zvanična pisma?

🎓University Groups Challenge New F-1 and J-1 Visa Rules🎓

A new immigration policy affecting international students and exchange visitors is now facing a legal challenge in federal court. ⚖️

🏛️ University organizations and labor unions have filed a lawsuit seeking to block the new rule, which is scheduled to take effect September 15, 2026.

📚 Under the new policy, many F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors would no longer be admitted under the long-standing “duration of status” framework. Instead, their authorized stay would generally be limited to a fixed period of up to four years.

⏳ Students and exchange visitors who need additional time could be required to apply for an extension directly with USCIS, potentially creating additional paperwork, costs and uncertainty during their studies or programs. 📄💵

⚠️ The organizations challenging the rule argue that the policy could have significant consequences for both students and American universities. They warn that shorter fixed periods may discourage international enrollment, place additional financial pressure on educational institutions and make it harder for the U.S. to attract and retain talented individuals in important fields. 🎓💼

🔎 The lawsuit also challenges the government's reasoning behind the rule, including its national security justifications, and argues that DHS did not adequately address concerns raised during the public comment process.

🎯 What happens next?

The court will determine whether the new rule can move forward as scheduled. Until there is further legal action or guidance, international students and exchange visitors should carefully monitor developments and consider how the changes could affect their current or future immigration status.

🤝 OC Law Group continues to monitor important changes in U.S. immigration law and helps students, exchange visitors and families understand their available options and plan ahead.

Podelite svoje iskustvo u komentarima. Možda će upravo Vaša priča pomoći nekome ko danas razmišlja da napravi isti korak. 🇺🇸❤️

🚨🇺🇸 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR I-485 APPLICANTS! 🇺🇸🚨

USCIS has announced a new edition of Form I-485, the Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, dated September 18, 2026.

📅 The deadline matters:
👉 Before September 18, 2026 — use the current edition.
👉 On or after September 18, 2026 — USCIS will require the new edition.

⚠️ There will be no transition period, so applicants should carefully check the form edition before submitting their application. Using an outdated version may result in the application being rejected.

🔎 What is changing?

The updated form includes significant changes to the “public charge” section, including:

✅ Previous questions regarding cash assistance and long-term institutionalization are combined into one question.
✅ Benefits are now reported in a single table instead of two.
✅ A new “Reason” field is included for each reported benefit.
✅ Questions regarding household and family circumstances have been revised.
✅ The form now requests information concerning household income, assets, liabilities, education, employment skills and certain public benefits.

📌 USCIS indicates that applicants generally do not need to submit supporting evidence for the public charge section unless specifically requested. If additional documentation is necessary, USCIS may issue a Request for Evidence (RFE).

💡 With these changes, carefully reviewing the correct form edition and answering every question accurately is more important than ever. Immigration applications can have significant consequences, and even a seemingly small filing error can create unnecessary delays or complications.

🤝 OC Law Group helps individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration process and understand important changes that may affect their applications and future in the United States.

⚖️ Federal Judge Strikes Down 75-Country Immigrant Visa Freeze ⚖️

A significant development in U.S. immigration law: a federal judge in Manhattan has struck down and vacated the State Department’s 75-country immigrant visa freeze, ruling that the policy was unlawful and exceeded the Secretary of State’s statutory authority.

📌 What does this mean?

The ruling challenges a policy that had placed thousands of individuals and families seeking immigrant visas in an uncertain position. For those affected, the decision represents an important step toward restoring access to the immigration process and moving cases forward.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who could benefit?

The decision may provide relief to individuals and families whose immigrant visa processing was affected by the freeze. However, the impact on each case can depend on the applicant’s circumstances, immigration category, and current status.

⚠️ Immigration policies and court decisions can change quickly. If your case was affected by the visa freeze, it is important to understand how this ruling may apply to your specific situation rather than relying solely on general information.

🤝 At OC Law Group, we continue to closely monitor developments in U.S. immigration law and are here to help individuals and families understand their options and protect their immigration goals.

🚨 U.S. HAS REVOKED MORE THAN 175,000 VISAS

The U.S. State Department says more than 175,000 visas have been revoked under the Trump administration as immigration enforcement and visa screening continue to intensify.

According to the Department, many revocations followed law enforcement encounters and involved allegations such as assault, DUI, theft, drug-related offenses, fraud, immigration violations and national security concerns.

Officials also cited cases involving individuals accused of serious crimes, as well as more than 100 visa revocations connected to alleged “birth tourism.”

This represents a sharp increase from January 2026, when the State Department reported more than 100,000 visa revocations.

The broader trend is clear: U.S. visa holders are facing stricter scrutiny, expanded background checks and increased social media screening. A visa is not a permanent guarantee of admission or continued immigration benefits, and conduct after issuance can have serious consequences.

⚠️ If you currently hold a U.S. visa, have had an arrest or law enforcement encounter, or are concerned that something in your immigration history could affect your status, it is important to seek legal advice before traveling or taking further action.

✨ Podelite svoje iskustvo u komentarima.

🤝 U OC Law Group pomažemo pojedincima i porodicama da bolje razumeju svoje imigracione mogućnosti i naprave sigurnije korake ka životu u SAD.

🚨ICE Expands Body Camera Use Nationwide🚨

Immigration enforcement is entering a new phase of increased oversight as ICE plans to complete its nationwide body-worn camera rollout by the end of August.

🎥 According to ICE leadership, every field officer and agent is expected to be equipped with a body camera. The agency has also stated that footage may be released more quickly in certain cases involving serious injury or death, although recordings can be withheld when privacy concerns or ongoing investigations are involved.

⚠️ The expansion comes after several high-profile incidents involving immigration enforcement raised questions about accountability and the lack of body cameras during encounters.

📌 ICE officers are also expected to record vehicle stops, adding another layer of documentation to interactions between immigration officers and individuals in the community.

💡 What does this mean for immigrants?

A body camera recording does not change your legal rights or immigration status. However, encounters with immigration officers can have serious consequences, making it important to understand your rights and know how to respond during an enforcement encounter.

🤝 At OC Law Group, we help individuals and families understand their immigration rights and navigate complex situations involving U.S. immigration enforcement.

🚨 URGENT TRAVEL ALERT - ADVANCE PAROLE

A recent BIA decision may have serious consequences for certain individuals who travel outside the United States using Advance Parole.
In Matter of Delcarmen-Lara, 29 I&N Dec. 830 (BIA 2026), the Board held that departure from the United States under a grant of Advance Parole can constitute a “departure” for purposes of the unlawful-presence provisions of INA § 212(a)(9)(B).
For certain applicants with prior unlawful presence, international travel could potentially trigger the 3-year or 10-year unlawful-presence bar and create serious complications for a pending immigration case.

⚠️ If you have Advance Parole, be extremely cautious about international travel. Your individual immigration history matters.
Before making any travel plans, speak with your immigration attorney and have your specific circumstances reviewed.
