Amazing work from Apex Elementary School, in their first month of they have diverted nearly 1,000 lbs of organic material from our . Making the problem, the solution for our local agricultural community ♻️

Small daily actions are making a big difference! Our composting efforts have already diverted almost 1,000 pounds of waste from the landfill. Thank you to the staff who support this work and help students learn to care for our environment. We’re better together!

Check out two of our favorite volunteers in this photo, Mr. Mount and Ms. Kremer (Ms. Small's mom!)!

And yet almost no municipality is offering any solutions for this… no curbside composting,no drop off spots even though we’ve reached out to many and offered to do it completely complementary.
It doesn’t make sense to us, but until everybody else catches up, we’re gonna continue to offer this service to the schools, businesses and many residents all across Wake County, who are choosing a more sustainable waste solution. Governor Josh Stein

We are doing our part to reduce waste at Apex Elementary. In just a few short weeks, our students have learned what items can be placed in our Share Cart, which can be recycled, and what goes in the compost bucket. We appreciate any volunteers who can come help us during lunch!
