Here is our process to help you reclaim Unclaimed Israeli Property:
Many people are unfamiliar with the concept of unclaimed property in Israel, so here is a simple explanation of how the process works.
1. Historical Property Exists
Property in Israel — including land, apartments, bank funds, or historic Jewish Colonial Trust shares — was often purchased by individuals in the early 1900s. In many cases, when the original owners passed away, their heirs were never identified.
2. Assets Are under Management Order of the State of Israel
Today, many of these assets are held by the State of Israel through the Unit for the Location and Restitution of Unclaimed Property within the Ministry of Justice.
3. Heirs Are Often Unknown
Because families dispersed around the world over several generations, the rightful heirs are frequently unaware that these assets exist.
4. We Research and Locate Families
Our work involves detailed historical research, property record analysis (in Israel title records cannot be searched by name as is sometimes the case in other countries), and genealogical tracing in order to identify and locate potential heirs.
5. Legal Claims Are Filed in Israel
Once heirs are located, affiliated attorneys handle the legal process required to establish inheritance rights through Israeli probate and submit claims to the Israeli authorities.
6. Recovery of the Property or Funds
Upon completion of a successful claim, heirs receive ownership of the property (title transfer) or financial value associated with it.
Many heirs only learn about these assets after we contact them. This page exists to provide information for families who wish to understand the process before deciding whether to proceed.
