Just Wayne's Take ...... What if ....
1. Concert / Paid Seat
If someone illegally sneaks into a sold-out concert, takes a seat that was purchased by a paying customer, and that paying customer is denied entry or forced to miss the event, then the person quietly enjoys the concert without causing any disturbance, should they be allowed to leave afterward because they behaved themselves, or should they be charged for unlawful entry and required to make restitution to the venue and the displaced ticket holder?
2. Hospital / Medical Appointment
If someone fraudulently uses another person’s identity or false information to obtain a hospital appointment or medical procedure, causing a legitimate patient to lose their appointment slot or suffer a delay in care, then behaves politely throughout the visit and receives treatment without incident, should they simply be released afterward, or should they face legal consequences and be required to repay the hospital and compensate for the harm caused to the patient who was denied care?
3. Government Benefits Program
If someone illegally enrolls in a government benefits program by using false documents or concealing disqualifying information, and their participation causes a qualified applicant to be denied benefits due to limited funding or capped enrollment, then uses the benefits quietly and follows the program rules after gaining entry, should they keep the benefits without consequence, or should they be charged with fraud and required to repay the government and the harmed qualified applicant?
4. Hotel / Reserved Room
If someone illegally gains access to a hotel room by deception, false identification, or bypassing the check-in process, and this causes a paying guest with a valid reservation to be denied the room they paid for, then the unauthorized person stays quietly, causes no damage, and checks out peacefully, should they be allowed to walk away, or should they be charged for trespass, theft of services, and required to pay restitution to the hotel and the displaced guest?
5. College / Limited Enrollment Class
If someone fraudulently registers for a limited-seat college course, training program, or certification class without meeting the qualifications or paying the required tuition, and their seat causes a qualified paying student to be denied enrollment, then attends class quietly, completes the assignments, and causes no disruption, should they be allowed to keep the benefit of the course, or should they face disciplinary/legal consequences and be required to reimburse the school and the student who was denied access?
6. Federal Election / Illegal Vote
If someone unlawfully registers or votes in a federal election by using false eligibility information, claiming a status they do not legally possess, or using another person’s identity, and that unlawful vote either causes a lawful citizen’s ballot to be challenged, rejected, delayed, or diluted, then the person leaves the polling place quietly and causes no disturbance, should they be allowed to walk away simply because they behaved peacefully, or should they face criminal consequences for unlawful voting, false registration, identity fraud, or election fraud, and be required to answer for the cost and harm caused to the lawful voter, the election system, and the public trust?
My take.... I don't know about you but I want MY VOTE to count!
