Protect your tax return before there’s a problem 🔐💰

One thing I’m strongly recommending this tax season is getting an IRS IP PIN for yourself, your spouse, AND your children.

An IP PIN adds an extra layer of protection to your Social Security number and helps prevent someone else from filing a tax return in your name.

✅ Adults can request theirs through their IRS online account
✅ For children, parents can complete Form 15227
✅ A new IP PIN is issued each year

Don’t wait until someone has already used your information to start protecting it. 💯

🚨 TAX PROS & EMPLOYEES — PAY ATTENTION!

The IRS has updated guidance for qualified overtime compensation starting with tax year 2026.

✅ Qualified overtime will now be separately reported on tax forms — most commonly on the W-2 in Box 12 using Code TT.

✅ Certain qualifying workers may be able to claim the new overtime compensation deduction when filing their taxes.

⚠️ Important: Overtime is still subject to federal income tax withholding throughout the year. The deduction is handled when filing unless the employee submits an updated W-4 accounting for the expected deduction.

Tax season is changing, and this is exactly why it’s important to stay informed BEFORE filing season starts. 📚💰
