The term is mentioned often, but have you ever wondered, what is "financial literacy"?🤔 Financial literacy is "the possession of the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources."

Simply-put, financial literacy is understanding finances, how they work, and the best way to utilize them. Good money management is the result of keen financial literacy and applying that knowledge and skillset. There's no sense having skills and knowledge if it's not applied!😉🤓

In 2020, there were lots of changes in our lives and many affected our tax returns. Now that the dust has settled (or is settling), let's take some time to prepare for the 2021 tax return filing season. Yes, NOW... not January 2022 😉 Here's a few tips:

• Withdrawals from retirement accounts for Coronavirus-related issues have special tax implications!

• Keep those receipts (i.e. out-of-pocket medical expenses, charitable contributions, some job-related expenses, etc)!

• Started a business? There's tax advantages... your life (and often part of your home) can literally become a write-off!
