Holiday parties are meant for celebrating, not crossing boundaries. ✋

Even outside the office, workplace rules still apply. Here’s what’s not okay (and what to do if it happens):
• Unwanted comments or touching? Still harassment, even if “it’s just a party.”
• Offensive jokes or behavior? The same workplace standards apply at off-site events.
• Alcohol isn’t an excuse. Employers are still responsible for maintaining a safe environment.
• Retaliation for speaking up? Absolutely not allowed.

If a line is crossed at your workplace event, you still have rights. Document what happened, report it, and don’t be afraid to get legal help if needed.

The holidays are around the corner, and so are those extra hours at work. But are you being paid fairly for them? 💰

Here’s what California law says about your paycheck rights (for non-exempt employees—workers entitled to overtime pay and minimum wage protections under the federal FLSA):
• Overtime pay starts after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week at 1.5x your regular rate.
• Double time applies after 12 hours in a day or 7 consecutive workdays.
• Holiday pay isn’t legally required in California unless it’s part of your employer’s policy or contract.

If your employer is shorting your check or ignoring the rules, it’s time to speak up.
