⚖️ $1,566,739.07 JURY VERDICT
Our client, a hardworking day laborer with pre-existing damage to his shoulders from decades of hard work, injured his left shoulder in an April 2022 crash which led to two surgeries to his left shoulder. When he over-compensated by using his right shoulder more, that shoulder became painful, requiring a third shoulder surgery.
The defense spent four years denying responsibility. The highest pre-trial offer was $500,000.
We rejected it.
Throughout the trial, the defense accused our client of looking for a “jackpot”, blamed the surgeries on his decades of hard work and providing for his family, and asked the jury to award just $13,000.
We told the jury our client's story through facts, evidence, and compelling argument. The jury returned a verdict of $1,566,739.07 — more than 3X the defense’s highest offer.
Our client wasn’t looking for a jackpot. He was looking to repay his medical debt. He was looking to be able to afford to live in his new reality - a reality where he can no longer work in the same way he could before the crash. That is what the community gave him by this verdict. We made it happen.
