What an amazing afternoon Loudoun VWAA had yesterday recognizing their past presidents and honoring their members who were elevated to the bench and Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
Congratulations to Judge Lorrie A. Sinclair Taylor, Judge Matthew Snow, Judge Mary Daniel, and Buta Biberaj for her appointment as Commonwealth Attorney.

On June 7, 2018, the Loudoun Chapter of the VWAA presented Loudoun Hunger Relief with the $2,800 raised through the Empty Bowls Fundraiser at our annual end of the year potluck social.
Here's to the end of another great year for the Loudoun Chapter of the VWAA!
On April 21, 2018, the Loudoun Chapter of the VWAA raised $2,800 for Loudoun Hunger Relief through the Empty Bowls Project Fundraiser during the Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival.
This was the fourth Loudoun VWAA sponsored event since 2009. All the bowls were hand-made and donated by amateur potters associated with Monkeytown Pottery as well as by Amy Oliver, the professional potter at Monkeytown Pottery.
Thanks to all who donated, participated, and purchased bowls through this fundraiser. We hope to see you all again next year!
We were pleased to host a presentation today by Gary Clemens, our Clerk of Court for the Loudoun County Circuit Court. Gary shared news about upcoming technological changes to the Clerk’s Office, remote access to court files for attorneys and the need for funding a fourth judgeship in Loudoun. If you have not subscribed to the Loudoun Officer of Court Remote Access system, contact the Clerk’s Office for a free subscription available for a limited time.

Chapter President Li-Shann Durst presented Judge McCahill with a commemorative silver platter from the Chapter honoring his many years of service on the bench, to the legal community and to our chapter. Thank you to everyone who attended our 15th Anniversary Celebration yesterday! What a wonderful time we had hearing from our first president, Barbara Williams, and from those who were involved in the initial startup of our Chapter.
Thank you also to Stephanie Troxell for handling the planning and all those who contributed. Everything went seamlessly! Barbara, thank you for your hospitality. Your floral arrangement was beautiful!
We look forward to the months ahead when we will have more opportunities to get together.

Save the Date for the 11th Annual Adoption Day scheduled for November 19, 2016. Last year's Adoption Day, pictured below, was presided over by a judge from the Loudoun County Circuit Court. Adoption Day recognizes local children whose adoptions have been finalized in the preceding year. Each child and their family are recognized by the presiding judge and given a certificate and teddy bear commemorating their adoption before joining local judges, attorneys and family members to enjoy food and drinks provided by the Loudoun County Department of Family Services.
We are looking forward to this year's event!
On June 9, 2016, the Loudoun Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association proudly presented Loudoun Interfaith Relief 's Executive Director Jennifer Montgomery with a check for $2,400 raised from the Loudoun VWAA's Empty Bowls project spear-headed by Louduon VWAA member Christine Mougin-Boal. The Loudoun Chapter of the VWAA received an Award of Merit in 2012 from the Virginia State Bar recognizing the Chapter's efforts to fight hunger in Loudoun County.
