Can something you post on Instagram actually hurt your injury claim?
Yes, and it happens more than people think. Insurance companies and their lawyers regularly look at a claimant's social media, and it doesn't have to be a smoking gun to matter. A photo of you standing at a friend's wedding gets used to argue you can't really be as hurt as you say. A vague "feeling better" comment gets read as "fully recovered." Even old posts from before the accident can get pulled into the mix.
It's not just your own accounts either. Being tagged in someone else's post, or a public location check-in, can end up in front of an adjuster.
The simplest move is to lock your accounts down and hold off on posting about the accident, your recovery, or your activities until your claim wraps up. You don't have to disappear from social media. Just be aware that someone might be watching.
