Rest In Peace Detective Chad Parque
North Las Vegas Police Department, Nevada
End Of Watch: 01-07-17
Detective Chad Parque, 32, was killed after being hit head-on by another vehicle (details within).
Born with a soul that has Courage to wear the Badge, Detective Parque (pronounced Par-KAY) had been Saving, Serving, and Protecting the People for 10 years as a Law Enforcement Officer sworn with the North Las Vegas, Nevada, Police Department.
Courageous and Compassionate, Fearless and Fair, this Brave and Benevolent Son, Husband, Father, and Brother of Blue simply wanted to make a difference in his small corner of the world. May we take a part of Brother Chad 's legacy with us when we enter into our daily arenas while continuing to create our own. May we vow to continue with the same Honor, Integrity, and Valor as this True Blue served. He was a great husband, father, brother, and investigator. He will be deeply missed by many. May we always remember North Las Vegas Police Detective Chad Parque for how he Lived As Only A Hero Could.
(Preliminary) On Friday, January 06, 2017, 1400hours, Detective Parque was on-duty when he was exiting the parking lot of the North Las Vegas Justice Court, located at 2428 North MLK, when he proceeded northbound on MLK. Detective Parque was operating a '05 Ford Ta**us department vehicle. A white '10 Nissan Versa was traveling southbound on MLK, approaching Carey Avenue, when the driver entered the lanes of oncoming traffic striking the detective's vehicle. The third vehicle, a white '02 Chevrolet pickup truck, was traveling northbound when it struck the rear passenger door of the detective's vehicle after the first collision.
The 62-year-old female driver in the Nissan was transported to UMC Trauma with serious injuries. She was later listed in stable condition. The 28-year-old male driver, as well as the 52-year-old male passenger, of the Chevrolet were not injured and remained on scene.
It is not yet known if impairment or some medical issue caused the suspect driver to drive into the wrong lane. This is an ongoing crash investigation and we will update once more is known.
Detective Parque had to be extricated from his mangled vehicle. He was then transported to University Medical Center Trauma in critical condition.
Though Detective Parque fought so hard through the night to survive, sadly, and with very heavy hearts, this proved to be our Brother's final battle ...
Detective Chad Parque succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced at 0321hours, January 07, 2017, surrounded by family, both of blood and of Blue.
Chad leaves behind his beloved bride, children, and families. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the entire extended Parque families, the Men and Women of the North Las Vegas PD, to all first-responders who showed on scene and continue to assist, to the University Medical Center Trauma hospital staff, and to all whom have had the pleasure and the privilege of knowing and working along side this True Blue Hero.
Our Brother, as you now look down from the Heavens above may you continue your vigilant watch over us all as we carry on In Our Brother's Honor. We thank you for your service and for your sacrifice, We thank you for your life. Job Well Done Sir.
