Today Laird Law made a $1000 donation to The Forget-Me-Knot Charities of Southern Nevada. This wonderful group of people hand knit and crochet sweaters, hats, throws, and Afghans for foster kids, VA Hospital patients, Fisher House, the Neonatal Unit at Mountain View Hospital, and the Family Readiness Program at Nellis Air Force Base. The importance of handmade yarn crafts cannot be overstated. These women have spent hundreds of hours handcrafting beautiful items for people in need. Collette Stickney came by our office to pick up the check.

Stainless steel instruments come out of a medical autoclave at approximately 260 degrees F. They must be cooled before contact with patient skin during a surgical operation. We had a good outcome this week for our client who was allegedly burned by a scalding hot stainless steel surgical instrument. The patient was under general anesthesia and had no idea what had happened until she woke up in the recovery room. Laird Law investigated the case and uncovered what the medical records were hiding.

A very good outcome this week for our malpractice client, a hospice nurse, who allegedly suffered a catastrophic stroke during high velocity neck manipulation by a chiropractic clinic. Chiropractors do a lot of good but there is one type of manipulation that should ALWAYS be avoided.

Dr. Betsy Grunch, a neurosurgeon, explains why high velocity neck manipulation is not a good idea.

Dr. Betsy Grunch, neurosurgeon, was cited in the New York Times on March 15, 2023. See the article here: nyti.ms/3mZbmbT
