For the last 10 summers, our network has gotten great joy from celebrating the next generation of Bruins that come from the communities we serve. Join us on Saturday, September 12 for our 2026 New Bruin Sendoff in the great city of Lakewood.

All Bruins are welcome to take part in recognizing incoming UCLA freshmen and transfer students from our local high schools and community colleges. If you know someone who fits these criteria, please let them know this event is for them and encourage them to attend.

This year, our Sendoff will also feature a vintage UCLA clothing exchange in which incoming Bruins will get to choose one (1) piece of clothing while all other guests are can use their thrifting skills and exchange one item of theirs for one of ours. (Or just donate it for a future exchange event.)

Last Tuesday at Watch Me Sports Bar in Long Beach, we we hosted our “2-Year Countdown to the 2028 Summer Games” mixer, our second in this special series of events celebrating the Olympics and Paralympics coming to Los Angeles, and the important roles UCLA and the city of Long Beach will play.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to join us, and a special shoutout to Micheal Menjivar of LA28 for his engaging and informative presentation and Q&A on what to expect leading up to the Games, as well as providing key details on volunteering. (60,000 volunteers will be needed for a variety of roles.).

We look forward to our next countdown event on July 14, 2027 when we’ll be exactly one year out. Mark your calendars now!
