Good analysis on the Supreme Court's recent tariff decision.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling Friday invalidating President Donald Trump’s tariffs will have enormous legal and practical significance. In a 6-3 decision in Learning Resources Inc. v. Trump, with seven different opinions filling 170 pages, the court held that the tariffs Trump imposed are ille...

Well, I’m glad SCOTUS didn’t wait until June to release this opinion. To me it’s a bit of a no-brainer. Though I guess I shouldn’t be, I am surprised that 3 justices dissented. Even Gorsuch agrees with the majority here.

In both Colorado and California, where I practice, non-compete clauses are difficult to enforce except in certain narrow circumstances. This decision blocks the FTC's attempt to make these clauses and agreements unenforceable nationwide.

U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas holds unlawful and sets aside the FTC final rule prohibiting non-competition agreements with workers. The court entered a final judgment directing that the final rule not be enforced or otherwise take effect and explained that its ruling applies...
