Mitzi Fortner has been employed in the firm’s real estate department since 1998. She handles both residential and commercial real estate closings, deed preparation and title review. We are a licensed agent for Old Republic Title Company for both Lender’s title policies and Owner’s title policies.

Alice C. Redwine has worked at Blankenship Law Office since 1999. She is the legal assistant to Mr. Blankenship and Mr. Raines. Alice performs a variety of tasks including dictation, scheduling (both clients and with the Courts) for the attorneys. She assists with closings, and helps in the real estate department when needed, as well as handling the receivables and payables. She aides in the audits for the title company and handles the reconciliations for the firm. Alice has worked in the legal field for 30 years and is a native of Scott County, Virginia where she lives with her husband and their 2 children.

C. Christopher Raines, III is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee. He graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he earned inclusion on the Dean’s List and participated in the Elder Law Clinic. His practice includes personal injury, divorce and family law, probate and estate planning, real estate matters, medical malpractice and criminal law. He is licensed in all Tennessee State Courts (2011) and the Federal Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
He is a member of the Kingsport Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Christopher lives in Kingsport with his wife and son.

Mr. Blankenship attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where he obtained a BA in English Literature in 1967. He then obtained his J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 1971. He is licensed to practice law in Mississippi and Tennessee and is a Member of the Kingsport, Tennessee Bar Association as well as the American and Tennessee Bar Associations. He is past president of the Kingsport Bar Association and past chairman of the Kingsport Chamber Fun Fest.

Admitted to all Federal and State courts to practice including the U.S. Supreme Court. He engages in the practice of law in many different areas: litigation of all types in the civil arena including personal injury for plaintiffs, medical malpractice, divorce, domestic relations, probate estates, wills, commercial litigation, real estate matters and closings.
