This week’s Case Highlight is a little different because it is not about a case, it is about a mission that is just as important to us as any case we handle.

At Gallardo & Landolfi, we believe in donating our time to help local students and to begin developing the great lawyers of tomorrow, today. Teaching trial techniques to middle and high school students is something we truly enjoy, and something we look forward to continuing for many years to come.

With today being the first day of school, we want to wish all of our local students, teachers, and families a safe, successful, and rewarding school year. We cannot wait to get back into the classroom and help the next generation build their confidence, find their voice, and learn how to advocate for others.

This is Week One of our Case Highlights, and with Key West Mini Season beginning this week, we are focusing on the safety of divers in our waters.

At Gallardo & Landolfi, we understand the devastating consequences that can result when Florida’s diver safety laws are not followed. We have represented Plaintiff's seriously injured in boating and personal watercraft accidents, including cases involving Florida’s Divers-Down Flag laws. We help our clients pursue the compensation they deserve and hold negligent parties accountable under the law.

Just as importantly, we believe our responsibility extends beyond the courtroom. Raising awareness in our community can help prevent these tragedies before they occur. A few extra moments of caution around a Divers-Down Flag can save a life.

A good practice whenever you see a Divers-Down Flag is to:

Slow down.

Look around.

Ask yourself: Where is the diver down?

Our waters will be especially busy this week. Before heading out for Mini Season, take a few minutes to review Florida’s Divers-Down Flag laws and make safety part of your plan for the day.

14th Annual VFW Fishing Tournament is June 19th - June 21st, 2026 in Key West Florida.

We have five different species of fish and seven angler categories. There are nineteen guaranteed cash prizes, highlighted by a $15,000.00 prize for the heaviest Dolphin. We hope to see at our event!

We at Gallardo & Landolfi want to congratulate the Key West High School Mock Trial Team on their recent win in the District 16 Mock Trial Competition.

It was truly our honor to be invited by the Team Captains to sit in on a few of the team’s meetings and offer feedback, strategy, and perspective on civil trial advocacy. The level of preparation, professionalism, and talent on display was impressive, and that is a direct reflection of the leadership and dedication of Mrs. Paula Mercer and Legal Coach Madeline Thompson.

We wish the entire team the best of luck as they head to States in Orlando on March 26–28. Key West is proud of you. Go represent!
