I started working on the Homeless issue and advocating for micro-shelters as a part of the solution before any shelters were established in the Salem/Keizer Area and before the pandemic hit and years before deciding to run for the Senate. My testimony on this issue back on January 6, 2020 is at 29:06 to 43:00. Today, we have multiple micro-shelters and I am serving on the advisory board to Church-in-the Park which is a non-profit group that is providing micro-shelters, security and services to the homeless community. This program is having a tremendous impact on getting people off the streets and to re-start their lives. Please continue to support this effort. For the reasons I explained in my testimony this program is offering great hope, not only to the homeless but also to the entire community.
