Yesterday was a special day in my career. After three years with this amazing company, I was promoted to VP. Titles have never meant much to me, but having my hard work and dedication to my team recognized means more than I can explain.

My first thought was to call my dad. I still haven’t found the courage to delete his number. Somehow, keeping it feels like holding on to a little piece of him.

I’m usually private about this part of my life, but yesterday, I wanted nothing more than to hear him say he was proud of me. He brought me to this country, immigrants chasing a dream. This moment belongs to him, too.
