O.C. serial killer denied parole, can try again in seven years

On Friday, April 17, 2015, I was honored to stand beside my client, Lynette Duncan, at Richard.J. Donovan State Prison as we opposed the parole of Brett Thomas, the individual who murdered her sister and father and shot her mother in 1977. We were triumphant in our fight, as Inmate Thomas will not be eligible for parole for another seven years! The picture/link below is a photo which appeared in the Orange County Register of the press conference which was held prior to our departure for the prison. My client and I wholeheartedly thank Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, OCDA Chief-of-Staff Susan Schroeder and Dr. Henry Nicholas, author and founder of Marsy's Law, for their support throughout this process. Marsy's Law is California's Victims' Bill of Rights which was added to the state Constitution in 2008. The amendment was named after Dr. Nicholas' sister, Marsy, who was murdered in 1984.

Survivor thwarted in bid to face killer

I was proud to represent Lynette Duncan last week -- her mother, father and sister were shot in 1977. She and I traveled with Marsy's Law For All President Andy Hong to argue against parole for Inmate Brett Thomas, one of two men responsible for the killing of her father and sister (her mother survived despite her body being riddles with bullets). Read her compelling story at ocregister.com.

Andrew Gallo was sentenced this morning to 51 years to life for killing Nick, Courtney and Henry and for gravely injuring Jon. It was my honor and privilege to represent these families under Marsy's Law, "The Crime Victims Bill of Rights." The families did an amazing job today in presenting their victim-impact statements to the sentencing judge. Nick, Courtney, Henry and Jon are proud of all of you, I’m sure.

Justice was served today as the killer of my clients, Nick Adenhart, Henry Pearson and Courtney Stewart and the perpetrator of the permanent injuries to Jon Wilhite was convicted this morning of three counts of murder and DUI causing great bodily injury to Jon. It has been an honor and privilege representing these four families under Marsy's Law.

Closing arguments start tomorrow and then the decision will be up to the jury. I feel the defendant and the victims received a fair trial. Let's hope justice prevails.

As many of you know, I represent the families of Nick Adenhart, Henry Pearson, Courtney Stewart as well as Jon Wilhite and his family in the murder trial of Andrew Gallo. This should be an important week as the prosecution should rest by Monday or Tuesday and the case may conclude by Thursday. Keep good thoughts in mind for these wonderful families.

While you all were sleeping the investigation of the murder of Kurt Reinhold (a homeless black man minding his own business)in San Clemente by OC SHERIFFS deputy’s for jaywalking has been completed & the deputies were exonerated… such bs!! I want you to know some things. It’s common for OCDA to complete an investigation after three months and then release the results two years later because you were sleeping. WAKE UP!!! He was murdered for jaywalking people!! Tory, get your group together and protest the s**t out of this. They think we’re all stupid & that’s their first mistake. This cannot go unpunished…. No fkng way! Fight for what is right or we lose our rights. Kurt lost his life, it’s the least we can do for him in this racist ass county!! Tired of the bulls**t in Orange County. Civilian shooting board must be enacted. Two years to release a three month investigation. That’s how they do it so the public forgets & goes about thier business. They violated the crap out of his civil rights. No difference between this and George Floyd. Kurt was black & homeless & minding his own business. He’s been in the ground for two years. This ought to be a rallying cry for all of us. Fight for what is right!!
CA Gavin Newsom has taken California further left than anyone has in modern history.

Eight months into his first term, Governor Newsom decided to commute the sentences of 21 prison inmates: 14 convicted of murder or attempted murder and 7 whose crimes earned them life sentences without parole.
