So why did I wake up in the early early hours of the morning around 1:43 am thinking I was about to be PRODUCTIVE? 😂😂😂

I said, “Let me go ahead and knock out a little work pertaining to the Group Homes while everybody is sleeping.”

Baby… I opened that computer, started reviewing policies, started reading some of these NEW state policies being implemented for AFHs, CBRFs, RACs, etc…

And about 15 minutes in, I just sat there looking at the screen like… 😐

“Now who came up with THIS ISH?” 😂😂😂

Because listen… these new state policies are SOMETHING ELSE.

As a provider, you may read a policy and completely disagree with it. You may question the logic. You may even want to call somebody and ask, “Did y’all actually talk to a PROVIDER before y’all wrote this?” 🤣🤣🤣

But guess what?

We don’t always get to agree.

If the State says it has to be implemented, then we have to figure out HOW to implement it in the AFH, CBRF, RAC, group home, residential program, or wherever it applies.

So there I was early in the morning, way before the roosters, chickens, or birds. Reading policies, mentally rewriting procedures, thinking about staff training, documentation, forms, compliance, and everything else that comes behind a FEW LITTLE POLICY CHANGES. 😩😂

I looked at that computer…

Closed it.

Went back to my bed, pulled my covers back up and said…

“You know what? The State and these policies, JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL.” 🤔🤔😬😏

Provider life is not for the weak. You don’t just run a home… you stay ready for whatever new rule, policy, requirement, training, form, signature, documentation, meeting, or surprise the State decides to drop next. 😭😂
