Why Consult a lawyer?

A lawyer spent seven years in school after high school, four years of college and three years in law school. Then, the lawyer spent hundreds of hours studying for and passing at least one bar exam. Thereafter, the lawyer must be approved to be admitted after going through an exhaustive background review.

Once admitted a lawyer is always bound by the rules of ethics, which include a list of duties to a lawyer's clients.

Finally a lawyer must continually participate in ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest developments in the law.

Law is rarely an area where 'do it yourself' is a good idea. If you have a legal question, rarely are you wasting money when you consult an experienced lawyer.

What does it mean that Florida is a 'right-to-work' state? It means, that an employer or an employee can end the employment relationship at any time for any reason.

However, an employer may not end the employment relationship for an illegal reason. Examples of illegal reasons include age discrimination, racial discrimination, failure to accommodate a disability for a qualified individual or failure to leave for a qualified reason under the family medical leave act. Each of these laws have nuances that impact applicability. If you believe you have suffered discrimination, speak to a qualified employment law lawyer as soon as possible.
