🏆 Carissa Womeldorph was nominated (by 2 staff members!) for DLG's Thankful Thursday!
1) "As her cases have matured, Carissa has been growing her hearing prep skills. She has overcome several obstacles such as new cases with a very short window for hearing preparations as well as clients who are difficult to manage due to the severity of their illnesses. She worked diligently and prepared two difficult cases in which Blair pulled out victories for both of our VERY deserving clients! She is flourishing in her newfound independence which will make a difference for our clients and be a valuable asset to our attorneys!" -Julia Lane, Senior SSD Paralegal
2) "We took a case on just a month prior to the scheduled disability hearing for a homebound client requiring significant home health services and facing imminent eviction proceedings. The client had not previously been represented and Social Security had not gotten any of the client’s home health records or other updated records. Cassie immediately jumped into action and was able to get all updated records from seven different sources, including an opinion statement, in just a few weeks. We were able to hold the hearing as scheduled and notified the judge of the urgency of the situation. We received a fully favorable decision just 3 DAYS after the hearing, likely ensuring that the client will not be evicted. Cassie’s fast, focused and compassionate actions have enabled our client to continue treatment in a familiar and stable environment. Excellent work, Cassie!" -Blair Biser, Senior SSD Attorney
