Daily Grind | The Gift of Work | 5-6-18

Have a case of the Mondays?

Pastor Chuck Martin of FBC Frisco recounts "Leaf By Ni**le", a short story written by JR Tolkien, author of Lord of the Rings. “It’s a story about an artist and the artist had been hired to paint this big mural and so he worked on it everyday and he had it under this big cloak so no one could see his progress...the story tells finally Ni**le reaches the end of his career and they unfurl, take the cover off the canvas off what he’s been working on and there’s a single leaf and they’re like that’s it? And as Ni**le goes to heaven, he says ‘Oh the frustration, I could only get out a single leaf.' And on his way to heaven, he looks and sees a beautiful tree and he realizes his leaf is but one leaf in the bigger tree. Regardless of how big or complicated our task is, we are still part of something far more significant if we have a God perspective on our work.” - The Daily Grind: The Gift of Work, Pastor Chuck Martin

Christ Chapel Bible Church provides an insightful discussion on where the church fits in the movement.

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness.." ~ Hebrews 4:15

If you've been on social media in the last six months, you've probably seen the hashtag . You may have even felt the hurt that's packed into those two words.

How do we as a church step into the issue of sexual harassment/assault? We're talking about it in this week's Coffee Talk with Associate Minister to Women, Kristin Hines:

“You thought God just answered your prayer and you run into something else…You want to know God, where did this come from? Well, God showed you a little something earlier. He wants to show you a bigger something now. Because the reason for a crisis is to give you a deeper more experiential knowledge of God.”- Tony Evans, Experiencing Spiritual Deliverance: Part 2 - May 4, 2018

Thanks for reminding us that sometimes God takes us the long way around, but He always has a reason.

"Let there be light" and in that moment in time darkness was shattered and conquered forever. His Son, Jesus Christ, walked upon the raging sea of the Sea of Galilee and He held the sea, held the winds in His fist. and said, "Peace be still."

I think everyone here at The Church Law Group is getting excited about spring. We have some excited announcements coming very soon!! Spring is for Growth: A pretty powerful bible verse that can lead us into spring.

"That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers." – Psalm 1:3, NIV

Spring is a time for growth. In nature, that comes from the right combination of sunlight and water. For our spiritual lives, it comes from the right combination of time with God in His Word and time with other Christians in fellowship. The alternative is to be chaff that blows away and comes to nothing.

Billy Graham's most notable quotes

Through the years the Church Law Group has been close to Billy Graham and the Graham family. He always had a way with words and a sense of humor that would light up a room. He was truly "America's Pastor" and this was evident in how he lived an unselfish, giving life spreading the word about our Lord and Savior. Pastor Graham and his message will forever live on.

To the Graham family, thank you for letting us be touched by one of the most incredible individuals of our time. God Bless. We will miss you Pastor Graham.

To our clients, former clients, and friends,

Recently, several employees of this law firm, including one of its shareholders, chose to resign and start a new firm. Announcements of the new law firm may have created some confusion for our clients, former clients and friends. We apologize for any confusion created by this transition. We too were surprised by these developments in that the resignations of these former employees were tendered overnight and without notice.

Contrary to what you may have heard or read, the Church Law Group™ practice division of Anthony & Middlebrook, P.C. is still here, still providing the same legal services to our clients and still prepared to serve your organization’s legal needs the same as we always have. So many of you have reached out directly and we thank you!

We are in the process of changing the firm’s legal name and will update our clients once we have formalized the name change. However, the firm’s practice division of the Church Law Group™ will remain the same.

It has come to our attention that certain communications from the new law firm recently formed by some former employees have potentially caused some clients to believe all of the lawyers and staff of our firm and the Church Law Group™ resigned to join the newly formed firm. This is simply untrue and it is unfortunate if any such communications caused confusion for any of our clients. While some staff and attorneys did leave our firm, many staff and attorneys remain with us and others have joined us. We have a great strong team here and are proud to serve churches and ministries around the country. We remain vigilant in guarding against confusion as it concerns our firm and our ability to serve the needs of our clients.

We ask that our clients contact us with any questions they may have regarding their legal matters or their files or this transition and allow us the opportunity to respond in our quest to continue to serve and help with their legal needs.

Our law firm and its practice division of the Church Law Group™ remain in the same offices, with the same phone numbers, the same website, offering the same legal services as we have always offered to our Church Law Group™ Client/Members and to all other clients of our firm. The attorneys currently on our staff are licensed in Texas, New York, California, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. We remain equipped to handle the legal needs of your organization, large or small, and we remain truly thankful for our clients and for every legal matter entrusted to us.

Our law firm and the Church Law Group™ stand ready to assist with your legal needs from the Board Room to the Court Room and anywhere in between. Our dedicated transactional and trial attorneys stand prepared to achieve our ultimate goal – your PEACE OF MIND, the same as we always have.

Please feel free to contact us at (972) 444-8777 should you have any questions with regard to our services or your legal matter. We are thankful for every client we have and every opportunity we are given.

Thank you,

THE CHURCH LAW GROUP ™
