Notary Rule Change You NEED to Know About!
Finally, a step in the right direction when it comes to fighting deed fraud and holding bad actors accountable! 🙌🏽
Effective July 1, 2025, the Arizona Secretary of State now requires all new and renewing notaries public to pass a notary competency exam before being commissioned. This is HUGE for protecting the public and reinforcing the integrity of our notarial system.
📜 Per A.R.S. § 41-270, this new rule helps ensure notaries understand their responsibilities and can't be used as pawns in fraudulent real estate transactions.
💥 Why does this matter? Because fraudulent notarizations have been a tool for scammers, especially in deed fraud cases. This new rule is one more layer of defense for property owners, the public, and legitimate professionals.
