OFFICIAL: ACADEMY SPORTS + OUTDOORS COMING TO MOUNT PLEASANT: It is finally happening! 🎣⛺ After months of rumors and anticipation, Academy Sports + Outdoors has officially filed permits to construct a brand-new store in Mount Pleasant.

The $5.9 million project involves the ground-up construction of a 55,015-square-foot retail building on West Ferguson Road (Hwy 271). This new store will be a key anchor for the Anderson Towne Crossing development, located near the intersection of Ferguson Road and Tankersley Road.

Construction is scheduled to begin this spring on April 13, 2026, with a target completion date of October 2, 2026.
