🎉 Welcome to the Next Chapter, Rachel! 🎉

We are thrilled to officially welcome Rachel Archulet as a full-time Associate at HB Law, PLC!

Rachel's journey with our firm began in the summer of 2024 when she joined us as a Summer Associate. Over the past two years, she has become an invaluable member of our team, working alongside our attorneys and gaining hands-on experience in estate planning, business law, and real estate matters while completing law school.

Rachel recently earned her Juris Doctor from Liberty University School of Law, where she served as President of the Latino Law Student Association and was an active member of the Women's Law Society and the American Bar Association. She previously graduated cm laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in Law, History, and Culture, building a strong foundation for a career dedicated to advocacy and service.

A Virginia native from a military family, Rachel embodies the values that define HB Law—integrity, professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to serving others. While awaiting the results of the Virginia Bar Examination, she looks forward to continuing to serve our clients throughout Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and the surrounding communities.

If these walls could talk… 510 Caroline Street would have some stories to tell!

As we continue learning about the history of our building, we came across this Free Lance-Star clipping from February 11, 1963—and apparently, things were a little livelier here 63 years ago.

According to the article, Fredericksburg police raided 510 Caroline Street on a Saturday night, describing it as a “disorderly house.” Seven people were arrested, with charges ranging from operating and residing at the house to breach of the peace.

It’s one of those fascinating snapshots that reminds us just how many lives—and chapters of Fredericksburg history—have passed through this building.

Today, 510 Caroline Street has entered a very different chapter as the home of HB Law. From a police raid in 1963 to a law office in 2026… we’d say the old building has come full circle. ⚖️

We love uncovering these pieces of our property’s past and preserving the story of this special corner of historic Fredericksburg.

A Piece of Fredericksburg History at HB Law

We recently received the historic research report from the Historic Fredericksburg Foundation on our office at 510 Caroline Street, and it's fascinating to learn more about the people who first called this property home.

The research traces the property's history back to 1851, when it was part of the estate of John L. Shultice. After his passing, ownership passed through his family before George W. Wroten, a local builder, acquired the property. Wroten is believed to have constructed the two-story duplex at 510 Caroline Street around 1850, creating the structure that still stands today.

The home remained closely tied to the Shultice and Wroten families for decades. In fact, John Leonard Shultice later purchased 510 Caroline Street in 1848, while living next door at 512 Caroline, and the property stayed in the family until 1923. George Wroten went on to become a prominent member of the Fredericksburg community, serving on City Council for more than 20 years and contributing to several notable local landmarks.

We're honored to be the current stewards of this remarkable piece of Fredericksburg history. As we continue serving our clients at HB Law, it's meaningful to know that our office has been part of the city's story for more than 175 years.
